Registration for the Returning Residency will open for Fellows on July 19, and for Collaborative Residents, Summer Program Faculty & Students, & MassArt/FAWC MFA Alumni on August 2.
We're pleased to invite our Fellows, Collaborative Residents, Summer Program Faculty and Students, and Alumni of the MassArt/FAWC MFA to participate in the Fine Arts Work Center's Returning Residency Program. The program is a great opportunity to escape energy-sapping routines, recharge creative batteries, and live and work surrounded by other artists and writers.
Week 1 - August 30 - September 5
Week 2 - September 6 - September 12
Please note: COVID protocols will still be in place and construction is ongoing on campus. This year, Returning Residents will not have access to the computer lab, parking, or laundry facilities.
No overnight guests allowed on FAWC property, including in your apartment or studio, except for one household member who may accompany you to the Residency. We have limited family options available. Please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
1 - 2 day visitors are allowed during your Residency stay.
During these weeks, Work Center apartments are available for rent at a reduced weekly rate (please note partial week rentals are not available). Apartments are lovely and rustic. They include a double bed, private bathroom and kitchen. Apartments do not have phones, televisions, or air conditioners (fans are provided if needed). Residents have access to our computer lab with scanner, printer, and copier. Wireless internet, on-site parking and coin-operated laundry facilities are available. Visual arts studios are also available for an additional cost. No pets are allowed and smoking is prohibited inside all FAWC buildings, including apartments.
We cannot accommodate requests for a specific visual arts studio.
Residents must bring their own sheets (size double), towels, and toiletries.
Check-in is on Monday between 3-5pm and check-out is on Sunday by 12pm.
We are unable to accommodate early arrivals or late departures.
Residents are expected to check out on time and leave the apartment clean.
Each week's residency runs Monday-Saturday nights. If you register for two or more consecutive weeks in different apartments you will need to secure off-site housing for the Sunday night in-between. In other words, you will need to check-out on Sunday by 12pm and then check-in to the new apartment on Monday between 3-5pm.
