START! New Education Partnership with PAAM

The Fine Arts Work Center is pleased to announce a partnership with the Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM), creating a new program for teens. Teens from Harwich to Provincetown, will have the opportunity to take a workshop taught by our Visual Arts and Writing Fellows in a variety of media, including; creative writing, sculpture, drawing/painting, cinematography and digital animation. These gifted Fellows bring a wealth of talent and experience to the Cape, hailing from across the US and abroad. Working in partnership with PAAM’s award winning youth education program expands our mission to connect Fellows with the local year-round community.

The Provincetown Art Association and Museum’s commitment to accessible arts learning opportunities for young people dates to the 1920s. Today PAAM’s youth programs include partnerships with numerous local schools and organizations.

The Fine Arts Work Center offers a unique residency for writers and visual artists in the crucial early stages of their careers. The Work Center provides seven-month Fellowships to twenty Fellows each year in the form of living/work space and a modest monthly stipend. Residencies run from October 1 through April 30. The Fellowship provides the intellectual freedom and material support to work independently in a diverse and engaging community of peers.
