PATTY LARKIN redefines the boundaries of folk-pop music with her inventive guitar wizardry and uncompromising vocals and lyrics. Hailed a “musician’s musician,” she is the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate of Music from Berklee College of Music, where she has served as Artist in Residence. A New York Times Critics Choice, Patty has 13 recordings and 30 years touring to her credit. Her live shows wow audiences with her imaginative wit, writing and guitar artistry. She has been described as “riveting” (Chicago Tribune), and a “drop-dead brilliant” performer (Performing Songwriter).
Her new project, slated for release in 2018 and titled Bird in a Cage, is a collection of poems set to song. Poets include Robert Pinsky, Marie Howe, Kelle Groom, and Nick Flynn, among many others.
Richly contemplative … about open vistas and spiritual quests. Her voice can be breathy and confiding, tinged with the blues or infused with Joni Mitchell's pearly depth. Larkin is deeply attuned to the resonances of her many instruments.
NEW YORK TIMES CRITICS CHOICE
An absolutely stunning guitarist, Larkin matches her instrumental chops as a vocalist and songwriter, making her a true triple-threat artist.
