EXHIBITION: BIG FAT FLOWERS
OPENING RECEPTION: FRIDAY MAY 3, 6-8PM
EXHIBITION RUNS THROUGH MAY 17
The exhibition, “Big Fat Flowers” will inaugurate the Summer Exhibition Series at the Hudson D. Walker Gallery of the Fine Arts Work Center. Curated by Vicky Tomayko and Bert Yarborough, the invitational show will feature drawings, paintings, photographs and sculpture by a diverse group of local and national artists.
The exhibition will open with a reception in the gallery, Friday, May 3 from 6:00 to 8:00. Like a crocus, the exhibition will be bright, sweet and short, concluding on May 21.
The genesis of the show came when Vicky Tomayko was creating a poster as an example for her silkscreen class at Cape Cod Community College. When Bailey Bob Bailey saw her working on it, he said ” I have a piece for that show!” The exhibition was born of serendipity and now has 30 artists contributing work that relates, directly, indirectly or tangentially to the title theme.
Participating artists are:
Bailey Bob Bailey
Liz Surbeck Biddle
Henry Varnum Poor
Helen Miranda Wilson
