Each year the Fine Arts Work Center hosts a number of events reuniting Fellow alumni and art patrons invested in creative engagement and support. These events include the Summer Awards Celebration in Provincetown, an annual star-studded commemoration of individuals whose essential gifts for writing, art, and action have moved us toward a more progressive and humane society. Events also include gallery receptions in NYC and Boston, the Annual Art Auction, now in its 42nd year and The Lyric Series, a celebration of the sound of words.

In 2018, the Work Center celebrates its 50-year anniversary with an expanded schedule of events and festivities. Internationally revered artist Ai Weiwei visits with an exhibition, conversation and screening. Robert Pinsky’s Favorite Poem Project returns with a panel of poetry enthusiasts and celebrated guests. Summer Salons, hosted in private homes will spotlight the achievement of our writing Fellows. Exhibitions in NYC, Boston and Provincetown will illuminate the connections of our visual arts community.

This year, the New Provincetown Print Project has been revitalized offering a new limited edition portfolio to celebrate the important role of printmaking in the history of Provincetown. 2018 Community partners include the Provincetown Film Festival, Twenty Summers, Provincetown Art Association and Museum and the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum each hosting unique events in celebration of the Work Center’s milestone birthday.
