TRANSFORMATION - LIVE
Transformation. How do we achieve this in writing a poem? We will meet for 5 days, and each day we will invite transformative poets and poems into our rooms: We will read poets who give close attention to one thing , poets who praise ( and praise what might not seem praise-able) , poets who dream and imagine, poets who leap ( into--- who knows where?).
You might be a beginner. If so, welcome! You might be an experienced poet. If so, welcome! This week is offered to anyone who wants to write new poems and be changed.
NOTE: As this workshop fills quickly with a long waitlist, Marie has requested that students who have taken her workshop within the past five years (2016-2021) refrain from registering so that new students may have the opportunity to work with her. Thank you.
LIVE TIME: 12pm-2pm EST.
Marie Howe’s newest book of poems is Magdalene. She is also the author of the collections The Kingdom of Ordinary Time, What the Living Do and The Good Thief. She currently teaches at Sarah Lawrence College and NYU. In 2012, she was named State Poet of New York.
