Your Week at FAWC

Your Week at the FIne Arts Work Center

The Fine Arts Work Center is located on the site of the historic Days Lumberyard, home to working artists since 1914. Our facilities include 25 apartments, 14 large working studios and classrooms, state-of-the-art print shop, digital media lab, student lounge, computer lab, auditorium, art gallery, communal outdoor space and administrative offices.

Students have 24-hour access to classrooms and studios, print shop, student lounge, digital medial lab and computer lab.

Each week begins on Sunday with a welcome reception and orientation, which includes an introductory meeting with workshop faculty. Workshops meet Monday thru Friday and each day begins with a continental breakfast.

We host evening readings and artist talks by our faculty, offering students an opportunity to learn from and interact with faculty in a casual setting. We also offer a mid-week BBQ and a student night with open studios and readings providing students an opportunity to share their work.

All of the week's events are designed to create a community where students, faculty, interns and staff come together to share a creative practice and contribute to an on-going conversation about the arts.
