WRITING FELLOWSHIP APPLICATION: Fiction

The deadline to apply for the 2017-18 Fellowship has passed. The application for 2018-2019 will be available December 1, 2017.

Note: Writers who have published a full-length book of creative work (or have a contract to publish a full-length creative work) are not eligible.  If an applicant receives a contract during the application period, she must notify Sophia Starmack at sstarmack@fawc.org.

 

Session:  October 1, 2017 – April 30, 2018
Application Fee:  A $50 non-refundable processing fee must accompany this application. Writing Fellows are provided with an apartment and a monthly stipend of $750.
Residency:  Fellows are required to be resident in Provincetown during the seven-month Fellowship.

All fields are required unless noted otherwise.

 

We are accepting applications for the 2017 - 2018 Writing Fellowships.  This portal will be open until December 1st.  Results will be sent to applicants via email in early May.

SUBMISSION OF WRITING SAMPLES *

PLEASE NOTE: The first page of your sample must consist of a cover sheet listing the title(s) of enclosed work.  Do not count the cover sheet in your page total.  Your name must not appear anywhere in the writing sample, OR ON THE COVER PAGE.  Likewise, do not list publications or award citations anywhere in the sample. 

FICTION

Short stories, or an excerpt from a novel. If sending an excerpt from a novel, please include a brief synopsis (1–2 pages) and, preferably, the opening section.  Maximum length: 35 double-spaced pages in 12-point typeface. 

 

After preliminary reading, the jury may request additional writing samples
