FELLOWSHIPS

Fellowships at the Fine Arts Work Center offer a unique seven-month residency for emerging writers and visual artists in the crucial early stages of their careers.

The Fine Arts Work Center’s Fellowship Program is a leading long-term residency program in the country. Open to applicants from around the world, the Work Center provides Fellowships to ten visual artists and ten writers each year in the form of living/work space and a modest monthly stipend. Fellows have the opportunity to pursue their work independently in a diverse and supportive community of peers while living and working in Provincetown from October 1 through April 30. Since the Work Center’s founding, more than 800 Fellowships have been awarded. Fellows have made an enormous impact on American arts and letters, going on to win virtually every major national award in their respective fields, including the Pulitzer, MacArthur, Whiting, Pollock-Krasner, Tiffany, Prix de Rome, Guggenheim, NEA, and National Book Award.  learn more
