Workshop Description 

This workshop will start with the production of monotypes and expand the possibilities of developing a body of work by employing a multitude of processes including chine colle, collage, drawing, painting and watercolor.  Participants will investigate sequential prints using trace and watercolor monotype, stencils and the exploration of latent images -- ghosts.  Individuals may explore the architecture of their own visual language by employing multiple techniques and processes in order to transform their work.

Biography

BERT YARBOROUGH has a degree in Architecture from Clemson University and an MA and MFA in Photography from the University of Iowa. He currently holds the Sonia C. Davidow ’56 Endowed Chair in the Fine and Performing Arts at Colby-Sawyer College, New London, NH, where he also serves as the Director of the Marian Graves Mugar Art Gallery and teaches Drawing and Painting. A former two-year Resident Fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, he served as Visual Arts Program Coordinator for four years and is now serving as Chairman of the Visual Committee. He has received two NH State Arts Council Grants in Painting, an NEA Fellowship in Sculpture and a Fulbright Fellowship to Nigeria, also in Sculpture.
