Second-year poetry Fellow REBECCA GAYLE HOWELL is the author of Render / An Apocalypse, which was selected by Nick Flynn for the 2012 Cleveland State University Poetry Center's First Book Prize and is a current finalist for ForeWord Review's 2013 Book of the Year. Howell is also the translator of Amal al-Jubouri's Hagar Before the Occupation / Hagar After the Occupation (Alice James Books, 2011). Her homeplace is Lexington, Kentucky.

 

Second-year fiction Fellow ANNIE SLONIKER is a graduate of Harvard and the Iowa Writers' Workshop. She has been the recipient of residencies at Yaddo and the Ucross Foundation, and her work has appeared in A Public Space. She grew up in Nebraska, spent several years in Boston, and most recently taught English as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ukraine.
