Application: Poetry


The deadline to apply for the 2017-18 Fellowship has passed. The application for 2018-2019 will be available October 1, 2017.

Note: Writers who have published a full-length book of creative work (or have a contract to publish a full-length creative work) are not eligible.  If an applicant receives a contract during the application period, she must notify Sophia Starmack at

Note: FAWC has a policy of considering most poetry chapbooks not to be “full length” works; poets who have only published chapbooks in small-circulation runs on small presses are eligible to apply for the Fellowship.  However, if you have published a chapbook and plan to apply, please send an email to so that our Writing Committee can verify that your publication is not a “full length” work.  Please include title, author’s name, date of publication, page length, name of the press, and number of copies that were printed. 

Session:  October 1st, 2017 – April 30th, 2018
Application Fee:  A $50 non-refundable processing fee must accompany this application. Writing Fellows are provided with an apartment and a monthly stipend of $750.
Residency:  Fellows are required to be resident in Provincetown during the seven-month Fellowship.

 All fields are required unless noted otherwise.

We are NO LONGER accepting applications for the 2017 - 2018 Writing Fellowships.  Results will be sent to applicants via email in early May. The application for 2018-2019 Fellowships will open October 1.

PLEASE NOTE: The first page of your sample must consist of a cover sheet listing the title(s) of enclosed work.  Do not count the cover sheet in your page total.  Your name must not appear anywhere in the writing sample, OR ON THE COVER PAGE.  Likewise, do not list publications or award citations anywhere in the sample. 


Maximum length: 15 pages


After preliminary reading, the jury may request additional writing samples
